Vishuddhi Chakra
Kasturi Vyas Therapy - Vishuddhi Chakra (Throat Chakra). The throat chakra, or Vishuddhi, is located in your throat. This chakra has to do with our ability to communicate verbally.
What is The Throat Chakra?

The throat chakra is the fifth one from the bottom, located in your neck area, stretching from your shoulders up to the base of your brain. It's called Vishuddha in Sanskrit, which means "purification," highlighting its role in channeling higher spiritual energy into the body. Think of this chakra as a gateway for spiritual energy to enter the physical body. In order to activate the fifth chakra successfully, the lower chakras need to be purified to a certain degree.

Another name for this chakra is Bharatisthana, which means "God of the Speech," emphasizing its connection to communication and expression.

Throat Chakra Location

The Vishuddha Chakra, known as the Throat Chakra, is situated at the base of the throat, right in the center of the larynx.

When this chakra is balanced, it supports the healthy functioning of these physical parts, along with enhancing our emotional and spiritual connection to our authentic voice and identity.

Throat Chakra Symbol Meaning

The symbol of the throat chakra is like a vibrant blue lotus with 16 petals, adorned with all the vowels of the Sanskrit language.

At the center of the lotus, there's a downward-facing triangle with a circle inside, symbolizing the element of space (ether). Inside the circle is the syllable 'HAM' (हं), which is the Bija Mantra for the throat chakra.

Associated with the throat chakra is the deity Sadashiva, depicted as having five heads (representing the five elements) and ten arms, often dressed in a tiger skin. Sadashiva represents the balance between Yin and Yang energies and eternal purity.
